09 Keele Management School News Where are they now? ...Continued Amy Hao, MA Management Account Manager, International Data Group, Beijing Keele Management School offers a special experience with the Student Consultancy project, which was very attractive to me. It provides students with an alternative option between writing a dissertation and gaining work experience. I took the latter option luckily and I found it very helpful after graduation. Amy completed her MA Management with KMS in 2010. Like Daniel, she was one of our Student Consultants and feels that this experience has helped her significantly in her subsequent career. “To share my story in short, I came to Keele in 2010 to study for an MA Management, with a Bachelor background of Electrical and Automatic Engineering. I decided to study in the UK and the location of Keele for me was a perfect option, as it is situated in the very middle of Great Britain with easy access to other parts of the country. Also, its location, on top of the hill, means it is a quiet place to study with exceptional natural beauty. I think Keele is ideal for those students who want to focus on their studies but also enjoy their spare time with all the activities Keele has to offer. poor grammar. With the help of the English Learning Unit, I found my English progressed dramatically. It is normal for Chinese students to be shy speaking English, so the English Language Learning Unit can help remove the barrier of language difficulties. Robin Bell supported me in this way very much and it was she who gave me more confidence. Because of her motivation and added value from the English Learning Unit, I was able to grasp those future possible opportunities in the UK after graduation. For most Chinese students, a degree itself is not that attractive anymore; better still, a degree plus an overseas experience would help them to be more competitive in their future career. In my case, because of my internship experience, I got an offer from Olympic Games which allowed me to volunteer for ...better still, a degree plus another 6 months overseas experience would help in London and after, I got a full-time them to be more competitive in job opportunity in their future career. Heathrow Airport. The English Language Learning Unit at Keele helps international students with their English skills. Most Chinese students can get high marks in the English examination but still struggle with spoken and academic English. When I came to Keele I spoke English very slowly using basic words and writing English with I am now back in China and working as an Account manager for an American investment company called International Data Group (IDG) in Beijing, and I still believe Keele started my career path and gave me my understanding of Management.”
