Marketing in a digital age
KMS Marketing Lecturer, Jamie Bailey, has designed and will deliver, a new Digital Marketing module as part of the undergraduate dual-honours marketing programme. Here he explains the rationale behind it.
“ To continue our commitment to further making our modules and course relevant in an ever-changing global environment, in 2015 the Marketing group at KMS have introduced new elements into some of the curriculum that reflect changes in marketing theory and practice. The first of these changes is the introduction of a new Digital Marketing module that will focus on the issues and choices facing firms who choose a digital route to marketing, the strategies that they employ, how this meets the needs of their customers, and how they can measure the success, or not, of their campaigns. Assessment will centre on local businesses, enabling students to potentially put their ideas and approaches into practice, gain relevant experience and increase their employability skills.”
Debating the digital society in the House of Lords
Marketing and Politics student, Joe Porter, recently represented Keele University at the annual House of Lords Chamber debate:‘ In a digital society, is politics for politicians or is everyone a decision maker?’
Joe told us“ The outstanding opportunity of being able to speak in the House of Lords chamber was an incredible experience and one which I will remember as one of the best days in my life. I voted for the 2nd motion‘ We should include more expert advice via online conferences and / or community consultation’ which won with a large majority”
