Summer2014 l Keele Management School News 10 Gain a distinctive perspective of Management through Keele Management School’s MBA September 2014 will see a new intake of students onto Keele Management School’s distinctive MBA programme. The School prides itself on the quality of its MBA which uniquely offers a distinctive perspective of management: a critical approach to encourage a reflective mind-set and to question the conventional wisdom. As with all our students, we want our MBA graduates to become independent thinkers who contextualise management practice rather than apply simplistic prescriptions or run blindly with the latest business fad. Programme delivery relies heavily on the personal experience of the participants, so the entry requirement includes a minimum two years’ work experience, preferably in a management capacity. The fact that the programme is part-time, delivered on weekends only, minimises disruption to the working week and is a major attraction to the busy managers who make up the MBA cohort. New programme director, Dr Paul Forrester says “I am delighted to be leading the next cohort on the Keele Management School MBA. The programme offers participants the opportunity to hone their professional management and leadership skills in a stimulating and supportive environment. I am confident that the School offers a setting conducive to effective post-experience study. Having managed MBA programmes at other institutions over the last twenty years, I look forward to using my experiences in executive education to help Keele MBA participants develop their competencies and aptitude as reflective practitioners, and achieve the goal of an MBA qualification.” We are also able to accept people for study on individual modules if this fits with managers’ continuing professional development needs.
