Celebration 2017
KMS graduates and their families joined us in the School for our
graduation celebration on Friday 14th July. It’s the annual opportunity for
the School to celebrate our students’ achievements and find out about their
plans for the future over refreshments and nibbles. We also award prizes in
each of our subject areas. This year’s prizes went to:
Leigh-Anne Hawkins,
Student of the Year

“I have secured a graduate
accounting role with JCB”
Paul Webster, Student of
the Year, Management
“I’m currently completing a KRISP
internship at a local business called
Prompt PC as a Charity Marketing
Associate, which is going well, and
I’ve been accepted to continue at Keele
to study an MA in International
Business in September.”
Iram Ali, Student of the
Year, Human Resource
Management
“In my second year at University
I worked part time at Primark
progressing from a supervisory to a

to study theoretical considerations
of Management and HRM and then
to apply them within a workplace
environment. Currently I still work
at Primark but hope to find new
challenges in the very near future in
the field of management.”
Lien Hong Nguyen,

WE ALSO AWARD TWO
VERY SPECIAL PRIZES
The Shalimar Ward prize was awarded
to second year student, Ben Simmons
in 2016 but his certificate was presented
to him at his graduation this year.
“I’m currently preparing to do a Masters in Finance
at the University of Warwick”
The Hannah McAllister prize was
awarded to Human Resource
Management student Emma Allen.
“I am now working as a Resourcing Partner with Sky
where my role involves sourcing passive candidates
(candidates that I think will suit roles we currently
have but they haven’t directly applied for). Currently,
I’m recruiting for Finance, Audit and HR roles.
My degree prepared me for this role with an in-depth
understanding of the recruitment process and the wider
business implications. It also means that when I talk
to HR candidates I actually understand what they are
talking about! My time at KMS also taught me how to
manage time effectively, how to be proactive and how to
develop from feedback”.
