ABOUT our
Founded in 1949 by A . D . Lindsay – former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford – to overcome the division between arts and sciences , and with “ the study of modern society ” central to our curriculum , Keele has always been different from other universities – and , over 70 years later , we still are .
We ’ re unique in being excellent at both teaching and research , with a gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework , some of the most satisfied students in England , and with 97 % of our research classified as world-leading or of international importance in the most recent UK Research Excellence Framework .
We ’ re home to a thriving Science and Innovation Park , and in addition to over 2500 student bedrooms , our campus is also home to many hundreds of people . At over 600 acres our campus is the biggest – and most beautiful , we ’ d say – in Britain .
Students from over 100 countries are studying with us today , and across the world , more than 100,000 people are proud to be Keele alumni .
