The History Page by Alistair Fraser War is not a good thing, and yet it has shaped our lives in so many ways. World War One was the worst war eve. The total number of military and civilians casualties in World War One was over37 million. the total number of deaths includes about 10 million military personnel and about 7 million civilians. At least 2 million died from diseases and 6 million went missing, presumed dead. ! If war did not exist then some of the technological breakthroughs might not have happened yet or will ever happen. ! But in world war two things were not like World War One. In World War One it had been static trench warfare. But in World War Two it was fast moving and mobile. With better planes and tanks that could go faster and further than before. While the Battle Of Britain was happening. In the western desert (North Africa) the eighth army was trying to stop the German commander Erwin Rommel who was trying to get to the Suez Canal. War has shaped history and changed lives, sometimes not for the better. Without war things would be much different.
