SUMMER ESL CAMP 2013 - BRA- FROM THE EDITOR BY REMY GUENIN, ‘86 Editor Remy Guenin, ‘86 Assistant Editor Christina Lister 2013 Alumni Association President Damon Thorne, ‘85 Past President Amanda Mohns, ‘95 Vice President Gillian Pitt, ‘89 Secretary Debbra Chappell Kingsway Liaison(s) Carroll Ryan, ‘65 Remy Guenin, ‘86 Christina Lister Don’t Miss Any News! facebook.com/groups/ kingswaycollege Dear Alumni of Kingsway College, Fall on campus is, in my opinion, the most beautiful time of the year. As I contemplate this past year and think about the journey that Kingsway College is on, I realize what an amazing blessing it is to have this school still vibrant and operating in the year 2013. The world is a much different place today than it was in 1903 when the school was established. Yet through thick and thin the school continues to educate not only academically but spiritually the youth of today. It is a blessing to have dedicated staff and faculty who still have the hope of pointing students to the One who gave His all for a fallen race. Also, I am very happy to report that for the first time in many years the Administration has been able to turn in to the board a balanced budget for the 2013/2014 school year. We give glory to God for his continued blessings on this school. As you peruse through the pages of this edition of the KC contact, I hope you will enjoy a walk down memory lane. Experience renewed hope that Kingsway is committed to fulfilling its mission “to reflect Jesus Christ and prepare students for His service”. I would also like to introduce to you the co-editor of the KC Contact, Christina Lister. Christina joined the KC team this past summer as the new Development Coordinator. She is responsible for planning events such as the Fun(d) Dinner, Alumni Golf Tournament, and Alumni Chapter Meetings. She will also be managing our Alumni database and receipting along with her many extra-curricular assignments such as Grade 12, Campus Ministries, and Aerials sponsor. She is a member of the Alumni Association which is the team that plans Alumni Weekend each year. Christina graduated from Durham College in 2011 with a degree in accounting and has been involved extensively within the College Park Church Program holding positions such as music coordinator and program coordinator for the young adult group called the Refuge. Please help me to welcome Christina to her new role. I hope you enjoy this edition of the KC Contact and I urge you to remember this special school in your prayers as well as in your charitable giving plans. Kingsway faces many challenges each school year, one of them being an increasing number of students who need financial assistance in order to attend school here. It is with the effort of many and the blessings of God that we will continue to operate a school that is financially viable as well as a beacon of light in the community it serves. n twitter.com/kingswayc kingswaycollege.on.ca Interested in receiving Kingsway E-News?
