Undeniably , the Jack Nicklaus-designed , oceanfront golf course is the most spectacular amenity at Hokuala . For the most distinctive attraction on property , however , the course has serious competition – from The Farm .

Located on the site of what had once been a third nine , The Farm at Hokuala in just four years has wowed owners and visitors with tours , tastings and delectable farm-to-table edibles .
At its core , The Farm has a mission to produce the freshest ingredients for the resort ’ s restaurants , bar and spa , but it has a function of equal significance serving as a community farm where local schoolchildren are educated about agriculture and conservation . With The Farm firmly entrenched as a vibrant link to the Ahupua ’ a ( village ), Hokuala enjoys an indelible bond with the locals .
Going “ local ” is a vital part of what The Farm produces . Edible flowers , pineapple and 12 traditional Hawaiian canoe plants are among the compelling crops . Yet , amid all of the exotic offerings and educational efforts , The Farm also serves its first purpose admirably , putting farmto-table perfection on the plates of diners at
Hualani ’ s Restaurant .
“ The main benefits of our farm-to-table experience are the freshest and most flavorful fruits and vegetables while also offsetting the import industry with a green and sustainable alternative ,” says Farmer Samuel Selindh . “ The farm-to-table also tells a timeless story of food , and connects the diner with their meal and the land in a profound way .”
However , not everyone waits to sample the wares of The Farm until they sit down to dine at Hualani ’ s . Tours and tastings take place at The Farm , and owners can gather their own herbs and pick their own fruit .
“ Whether we are tasting fresh fruits , cracking coconuts , playing with chickens , getting caught in the rain , or chopping down a rack of bananas – the experience is always memorable ,” says Selindh .
One of the most enduring traditions at The Farm is a special ceremony where every new Owner plants and adopts a tree – usually a coconut – and they can return again and again to pluck a tasty reminder of their handiwork . ................................................................................ > CLICK HERE to explore The Farm at Hokuala .
