Our new publication will share the stories and spiritualness of Hokuala
Aloha , and welcome to the inaugural edition of Kawena Hokuala , a publication for those who love golf and all the goodness the island of Kauai has to offer .
There is a lot of significance in the name of the publication . Hokuala , which means rising star , was the title given to the area when it was reimagined some six years ago with the refurbished Ocean Course and the Timbers Kauai Ocean Club & Residences .
“ Kawena stands for a rosy type of glow as that of a sunrise ,” says The Ocean Course at Hokuala Golf Sales Manager Hualani Duncan , who came up with the addition to the title . “ It reflects everyone ’ s personality at Timbers Hokuala , she says , as their hearts are full of a rosy glow of goodness , success , peace , happiness and joy .”
The new publication is designed to capture the specialness and magnificence of Hokuala , and to share the stories of all its rising stars – the golf course , the residences , the island , and the people .
In this inaugural edition , you ’ ll get an inside look at what it ’ s like to experience the Ocean Course and Timbers Kauai , as well as the new Hui Aloha Huaka ’ i tours on property that offer guests a deeper understanding of the area . You ’ ll also meet our new PGA Director of Golf Operations Thomas Freestone , and learn how to mix a special drink recipe from Hualani ’ s Restaurant that you can make at home .
