1.Passports and visas.
The first thing we should think about is getting the passports and visas ready. And also you might want to have a copy of your passport just in case if your passport gets stolen or lost you want to be sure that you can still get back into the country, or be able to prove your citizenship and also you can keep and software copy of your passport and keep in your email.
2.Register in your embassy.
If you are a UAE national you should register in "Tawajudi" service which provides the ability for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to know where you are and contact you in case of emergencies and crises.
If you have any question about Tawajudi's service you can call them on their contact number 80044444 or email [email protected]
3.Get your vaccinations.
Double check and make sure that you have all of the proper vaccinations and that you have renewed all essential prescriptions. Make sure you take these steps well in advance to travelling. Many vaccinations require repeat doses, and/or take time to take effect.
4.Monetary preparation.
Before you go to another country you have to know about the economic situation in there and how are the rates in the hotels, markets and restaurants to know much you would spend there and also you have to make sure you do your math before you travel to get a sense of where the conversion rate is at.
Call your bank and let them know that you will be overseas so your funds do not get cancelled while you are travelling. Your bank will also be able to advise whether your bankcard/creditcard will work where you are going. It’s best to take a mixture of money – credit card, debit card or Travelex cash card, plus cash just in case as not every place takes credit cards. Especially important places like trains or buses.*
5.Luggage & packing.
It is always better to travel as light as possible but make sure you squeeze in an inflatable pillow, international power adapters in your hand luggage, socks for the plane, baby wipes to freshen up and also pack an extra set of clothes in your carry-on bag in case if the airline lost your luggage and you have nothing else to wear.
Another important thing you might want to have is a phrase book of the language spoken in the country you are visiting. Carry a phrase book everywhere. It could seriously save your life.
A weather forecast can guide your packing strategy, so it is really important to know the weather in your destination to decide what type of clothes to pack in your travelling bag whether light or heavy clothes.
