Every year in De Aar the committees of Kazimla and Karoo Eisteddfod join together to create the fascinating competition of art from all sources!
It is held in one of the town’s halls which make spectacular viewing for the art works that are hung on all the walls! If someone has a 3D art work to enter they place it on a table at the back which was this year packed with paper Mache, handmade cushions and one thing in specific which was an eye drawer. It was some clay which was shaped into a mummy coffin and painted over with decorations which was a living image of King Tutankhamen himself! There was also some wire cars and planes.
This time though the children were grouped into different rooms according to their age and school due to the lack of seats which were filled with parents and teachers in
the hall.
To entertain the mums and dads there are usually invitations sent to those who are very talented. You can annually see singing, dancing, gum-boot performers, and
poems being read aloud.
