Kangirsuk The co-op ’ s overall sales for its year-end on December 31 st , 2015 were up by almost 8 %, which resulted in the Co-op having a better overall surplus . This trend has continued throughout 2016 with new staff that are ready for the challenge ! 2016 brought the addition of a new garage to house their new tanker truck for oil delivery throughout the village .
Aupaluk Aupaluk is maintaining their increase in sales which we had seen in the last fiscal year . Despite the small size of their store , they have been introducing new items and have been exceeding budgeted projection . Over the holidays , they celebrated with feasts , games and ticket draws for some large items at the store to thank their members . We have yet to determine if a new construction project is in the works for the store in the coming years but members were proud to inaugurate their new petro garage whose construction was finalized just before the holidays last year and the arrival of a new tanker truck that were necessary investments for the community .
Tasiujaq The year-end for Tasiujaq co-op in January 2016 resulted in a better operating surplus than budgeted . This year the results are just as promising as the sales figures show a slight increase year-over-year . Being a small community , it is hard to sometimes keep all the divisions running smoothly but with new staff arrivals , we are confident that they will bring great things to the co-op . This year we are happy to announce the addition of a new gas station ! Yet another improved service the co-op is able to offer their community !
