À l’ arrivée du froid, il est important de veiller à la bonne condition des différents liquides qui, comme le sang dans le corps, circulent dans votre véhicule – son fonctionnement n’ en sera que plus efficace. La série de conseils qui suit vous aidera à mieux préparer votre véhicule pour qu’ il continue de bien rouler en période de grands froids.
Les lubrifiants
Choisissez un antigel efficace jusqu’ à-50 ° C et n’ oubliez pas qu’ il ne doit pas être utilisé à l’ état pur, il existe des produits déjà mélangés. Il est également recommandé de le changer tous les deux ans. Avant qu’ il fasse trop froid, procédez aussi à la vidange d’ huile et au changement du filtre, et faites vérifier l’ huile à transmission( qui pourrait, selon le kilométrage, avoir besoin d’ être changée, de même que le filtre qui va avec).
Les fluides hydrauliques
Vérifiez le niveau des liquides de freins et de servodirection. Si le liquide de freins est foncé ou sale, il doit être changé. Les froids extrêmes peuvent provoquer des fuites dans la servodirection; on les préviendra en laissant le moteur se réchauffer une quinzaine de minutes et en tournant lentement le volant d’ environ trois quarts de tour quelques fois de chaque côté avant de partir( un tour complet pourrait causer une fissure dans le tuyau, qui devrait alors être remplacé). En appliquant ces recommandations, vous aiderez à ce que votre véhicule roule tout au long de l’ hiver.

When the temperature outside drops it’ s important that the fluids in your vehicle, much like the blood in your body, are in excellent condition – they must be kept in top shape. Here’ s a list to help you prepare your vehicle for and keep it running smoothly in the cold months ahead.
Lubricants
The anti-freeze in your vehicle should be able to handle 50 below zero and should be a mix- never put in pure anti-freeze. We also recommend changing your anti-freeze every two years. Before it gets too cold, change your engine oil and filter and have a mechanic check your transmission oil. Depending on the mileage on your vehicle it, along with the transmission filter, may need to be changed.
Hydraulics
Make sure that your power steering and brake fluids are at the correct levels. Is your brake fluid a dark color or does it look dirty? Then it should be changed. Power steering hoses are more likely to leak when it is extremely cold out. To help prevent this, let your vehicle warm up for about 15 minutes and turn the steering very slowly about ¾ of a turn to the left and to the right a few times before driving. Full turns may cause the hose to leak and you would then need to replace it.
