In the winter, it was gone for good and she turned pale as she used to be for her whole life. In spring she decided to come back to Italy to meet Sandro. The time didn’t delete the nice memories of summertime spent together and she wanted some more of it.

In June she came back to Italy, in the same hotel of the year before. The owner recognized her and treated as she was a family member. This time she decided to be more independent and she rented a scooter. She went to the souvenir store owned by Sandro’s parents and left a message for him: “I am back for you, I am staying in the same hotel and I hope to see you. I will be waiting for you on the bridge tomorrow at 7 pm. Kisses, Lucy”

His mother smiled to her and nodded as the red hair Irish girl was leaving her a note card for her son.

On the next day she was very nervous and couldn’t wait to finally meet him. She arrived at the bridge at 6:50, parked her scooter and looked around. She waited, and waited and waited, but nobody showed up. At 8:30 she realized that he wouldn’t come.
