But first, let’s begin at the beginning. The definition of a portrait can be simply stated as: a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. Technically speaking, a portrait does not have to be just of the face, but for the purposes of this article we will focus on SL faces.
Firstly, we need to prioritize the subject and its expression.
1. Fill the frame with your subject. Don’t be afraid to get up close and personal. The profile pics in particular are small – pulling the camera away will make that profile picture have very little meaning.
