Dear reader,
we are here at the end of the number 2 of this new magazine which was created as a challenge and which is still going relying on our passion and above all, on our readers appreciations. So we sincerely hope you loved our work here, being sure about your support for the coming future.
As everybody are used to say, the number 2 is even harder than the number 1, because for building a number 1 there are no expectations, but the number 2 has to fulfill the expectations and obviously, being much more! This is actually what we wanted from our magazine, because that is our style and we always want a little more.
And for this number we have been thinking “how could we be more? we are photographers, the only thing we can do is to just show nice pictures”, but of course this was not the answer.
We found the right answer visiting the Visionnaire institute with which we literally fallen in love. They are a school which mission is to build the photographers of the future, and what can be more revolutionary than the future?
Future, everybody knows what is it, but what do we expect from it?
The point is that we live always expecting from future what we think we don’t have in the present, in a never ending waiting situation, suspended, leaving to our future the happiness we should want from our present.
Instead the future is the brick on the wall we put right now, is what we get from our present.
And in our life, the present is always a compromise, from when we open the sleepily eyes at the wake up to when we fell asleep on the desk in front of the SL viewer (raise the hand who never experienced this!), we keep dealing, discussing, looking for a compromise, and at the end of the day we discover that every single compromise is one more chain in our sense of freedom.
Well, this is life and we all have to deal with that, but second life is a second chance, is a place where we can have our revolution, where we can gain our freedom, even though, even here, we use to fall in the same mistakes of our real life, building day by day our chains till we discover that our body is fully chained and entrapped...then for many of us the solution is easy, open chrome, go to the LL website and click on “create your new avatar today”, building what we use to call, an “alt”.
But behind the “alt” there’s still us, so then, the matter doesn’t change and again the “alt” begins his own life of freedom, and day by day, deal by deal….again the trap is done.
We all went through this, even who typically says “i don’t have alts”, i generally don’t believe that.
So, how to get out from this vicious circle?
Of course we are not here to be psychologists (at least not me), nor sociologists, but only photographers, then, I admit, we are not the most entitled people to speak about how to change our own lives, but sure we can tell you how we changed our one with our own revolution.
Our idea is that the only way to get rid of our chains is to break them and learn to deal not with others but with our own freedom directly. So it’s a reverse way of thinking, we don’t get deals who compromises our freedom, but we want freedom and we don’t compromise on it.
So, with number 2 we have confirmed which is our identity, the guidance is that our magazine must be beautiful, no deal on quality, it must be a gem!
