LOVE OF

LIFE

How would you describe your style?

CS: I am always challenging myself to learn something new and to try things in different ways and I don’t think I could really say I have found my style yet. There is such a world out there to explore and so many ways of doing things, I am still caught up in the whirlwind of pursuing knowledge while truly enjoying the journey of each picture. Every picture I take now is because I want to and it is capturing the joy of creative expression.

Who or what inspires you?

CS: The play with light inspires me. The mix of pale and dark, the way shadows can add such depth while the light used can bring something into focus or wash it away. The way the light can brighten a picture up until there’s an aura of otherworldliness about the subject or that thin sliver can draw the eye in captivating surrender. The other aspect that I love about a wonderful photograph is whether it captures an emotion. If you can look at a picture and really *feel* it, then I always go explore what else that photographer may have done. There is an interesting discussion on pictures that can tell a story and I love those, but more important for me are the ones that make your heart beat faster or a tear come to your eye.

Do you have a SL photographer who inspires you?

CS: I do! And I actually had this conversation not but a night or two ago. There are some incredibly fantastic photographers out there in Second Life and I find that there is something to be enjoyed in the rich diversity of artwork out there. But there is one I adore and it is actually a really sweet photographer who is working with me to improve my own photography. Her name is Kiki Ergenthal and she has the most stunning collection of photography I have seen in quite a while. Definitely

something to check out! I love her use of light and posing to really give the viewer a delicious and enticing viewpoint on the subject.
