Larry W . Magill , Jr . was hired as the executive vice president on August 15 , 1980 . He graduated in 1970 with a degree in Economics . He also served in the Kansas National Guard . He began his career in insurance with United States Fidelity & Guaranty , Gilbert-Magill Company , and Fireman ’ s Fund . In 1982 , he initiated the formation of the for-profit subsidiary of KAIA , the Agency Services Corporation of Kansas ( ASCK ). In January 1989 , he created the first Rural & Small Agents Conference that was hosted in Salina . He was very instrumental in the merger of PIA and IIAK and helped form the KCCI Workers Comp Pool . At the October 1995 convention , he was award the Distinguished Service Award for his talents and efforts on behalf of the association , its members , and the industry . He left a legacy as a dedicated , hard-working individual who was truly devoted to his belief in the independent agency system . He resigned in 1995 to become vice president of the Member Products and Markets department of the Independent Insurance Agents of America . He later joined the AMS Users Group as their chief operating officer before being promoted to chief executive officer . Larry returned to Kansas in 2000 as the executive vice president of the association . Larry died on January 6 , 2010 .
Patrick J . Morris was hired as the executive vice president in December 1995 . He was from Sioux Falls , South Dakota , where he was the standards , procedures , and training manager for Rural Community Insurance Services . Before that , he was the regional compliance director for the Federal Crop Corp of the U . S . Department of Agriculture . He graduated from Christopher Newport College with a degree in Government Administration . He held a degree of Master of Public Administration from the University of Kentucky . Pat also served in the United States Marine Corps for three years . Pat resigned in 2000 .
Carol Dulle was hired on May 15 , 2010 . She was from the Missouri Association with over 20 years of operations experience . She was on the National Association Co-Branded website committee . Carol resigned in the Fall 2010 .
Kerri Spielman was hired in October 2007 as the government affairs director . She was previously employed by Senator Lana Olean and the Department of Commerce . Kerri attended Washburn University and was a graduate of Kansas State University . Kerri was acting director of KAIA after the death of Larry Magill . She was officially named executive director of KAIA on February 28 , 2011 . Kerri was very instrumental in the planning and completing the Larry Magill Education Center in 2011-12 . Kerri resigned in 2016 .
Dave Hulcher was hired as the executive director of the association on July 1 , 2016 . He graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor ’ s degree in Finance . During his time in college , he participated in a co-op intern program in financial management through the U . S . Department of Defense . After graduation , he started his insurance career working as a sales executive in commercial lines for CIMA Companies , Inc . While there , he received his property and casualty license and participated in a rigorous training program . He then spent 17 years at Big “ I ,” working in its for-profit subsidiary , the Big “ I ” Advantage Team . He served as director of the Errors & Omissions Operations , assistant vice president of Agency Professional Liability Risk Management / BIA Risk Manager . For him , the job was an opportunity to bring KAIA members together .
