Greensburg Tornado
On May 4 , 2007 an EF5 tornado hit the town of Greensburg , Kansas . The tornado caused over $ 153 million in property damage . The destruction included 95 % of town while the other 5 % was heavily damaged . Thirteen people were killed during the storm and over 60 were injured . The devastating tornado virtually eliminated the town from the map . Larry Magill of KAIA began making calls to find support for member agencies . The Florida Association of Insurance Agents and Trusted Choice answered his calls by sending the Trusted Choice Castastrophe Response Vehicle .
