The Kansas Association of Insurance Agent ' s founders envisioned an organization that would bring independent agents together . They wanted to build lasting relationships , establish high industry standards , develop better agents to serve their communities , and speak with a unified voice on issues important to the insurance industry . Through the selfless leadership of so many members and association staff , KAIA celebrates 100-years of fulfilling that vision .
Since our founding , KAIA has consistently focused on supporting members . Even through many challenging times , KAIA has helped independent agents achieve their dreams . The pages that follow highlight many of the member agent leaders that shared their expertise and energy , which has helped KAIA accomplish many great things .
Throughout this book , you will notice common themes , including members being servant leaders in the association and their communities , supporting fellow agents , and standing up for KAIA ' s core principles . Those themes are alive and well at the association today . In addition , our guiding principles remain consistent with the association ' s forefathers . We stand on their shoulders to build on past success and continue to be the champion for Kansas ’ s independent insurance agent for the next 100 years .
Understanding our past successes and failures is essential in helping us progress and grow into the future . I want to thank Marcia Moore for her work in keeping the history of KAIA intact . She worked for KAIA for 35 years and has been a consistent advocate of preserving our past . Without her , this book celebrating KAIA ' s 100-years would not have been possible . I ' d also like to recognize our industry partners . Without their support , we could not offer the same opportunities to members that we offer today .
