want to convey with a photograph?
What attracted you to photography?
Shadows and lights. The pleasure to watch a picture taken
at a given moment and spend time to dissect, translate
and understand the meaning. Sometimes, appreciating the
characters through the expression they manage to work
up and communicate in the picture. I'm used to saying: "I
can't draw, so I take pictures." Memory doesn't film, it
photographs, that may also be one of the reasons why I
am attracted to photography.

I don't know... Or I'd rather say I can't remember.

Is there a specific theme you continue to explore in your
work, or a message that you are trying to express in your
body of work?
I hardly ever take photos for books. Many other
photographers do it a thousand times better than me. I
mainly work and explore two themes: the moving body
and the facial expressions. My purpose is not to make
people look beautiful. What matters to me is to make the
photo beautiful through a body expression or an emotion.
What do you look for when you are photographing or
searching for subjects to photograph?
I often tell my models that photography is a 2D world. And
I am trying to get closer to 3D. I think you can get that 3D
with dynamism, which itself comes from the exaggeration
of the movement. Even if that movement is painful. By the
way, I'm often called the torturer. I like that nickname
because I get what I'm looking for in the end.
How do you usually find your models?
Our era and the new means of communication enable us
to find models more easily. Social networks like Facebook
and Instagram are very good providers. There also are
specialized websites for model searches, that are very
