How far along are you with the new album?
It's almost done actually. I approved the final mix this
weekend and it'll be off to the mastering engineer in a
couple weeks! It was an amazing process and the record is
very different from anything I have done before. Working
with Marr Zimm (Marrzimm.com) really helped hone a
new sound and a new direction. He helped me do
something I've wanted to do for years, but was too afraid
to leap.
recording was with 'Rise' in 2008. 'Naked Without' was just
me, a computer and a 50 dollar mic. That's it! I had no idea
what I was doing. Some of those songs are so old they
were recorded, or partially recorded, while in seminary.
It's crazy to think about that. I would estimate that I spent
500 dollars on that record. I don't say that to diminish it.
