but in real life it was a much stronger experience!!” Sergio is about to release the fifth womenswear collection through his own brand. The DARICELLO F/W 2016-2017 is ready. The inspiration and the muse behind the collection is Palermo, with its Arab-Normandy monuments, declared as world heritage sites by Unesco. The promenade that connects these historical sights, is the starting point of the collection. The fabrics of the collection move from wool to organza, duchesse and silk Mikado, graphic cotton mix Jacquard to embroidered tulle. The colors are drawn from the blue of the Sicilian sky, the white from the smoked marble, black and pink represent the colors of Palermo, and green that makes you recall the colors of the sea. Prints are done on duchesse and sating with the subject of an Arab window mixed with graphic elements. Another print brings together Arab decoration with European paintings and baroque details. ”Cuts and tailoring solutions create new overlays and constructions,” Sergio explains. ”The clean lines of the Arabic style meets the curves and lightness of the European Mediterranean architecture, generating an unusual contrast.” Remember that name. DARICELLO. It has a ring to it… and I predict great things for the Sicilian designer.
