music as well was very diferent from what you hear in
Germany and even though I was listening to a lot of
Japanese music, I found Korean music diferent and
captivating. he term “K-pop” hides so many genres and
diverse groups that the music culture alone is incredibly
interesting. Korean musical singers are just as fascinating
to me. I love their powerful but sot and beautiful voices.
What might distinguish me a litle from others is
that I also have interest in a completely diferent Korean
music genre: Trot. I could listen to Trot for hours. I’m
already seeing myself singing with all the ahjummas in a
karaoke bar, keke.
he magazine strives to publish good articles and the
team personally tests restaurants or learning materials
to which I can orientate. What I also like is how they
respond to their readers. hey try to integrate the readers
with activities such as giveaways or this interview. But in
doing that I never feel forced to share articles or other
things, to click “like”, to follow them everywhere or other
such things, which other websites like to do. While K
doesn’t have an issue every week (or something similar),
their articles are of high quality and show the dedication
of the authors. And even that changed since now the
articles are being published continuously on Facebook.
Via the music and the bands, I ended up inding
an online forum, So-Loved, through which I met a lot
of other fans. At some point I found Korean dramas and
watched my irst drama, “A Love to Kill” – I cried my
eyes out. hat’s what started my interest in Korean series
and movies. By now I’ve seen about 30 dramas and a few
ilms, and the list is growing weekly.
I’m completely satisied with the magazine and
would highly recommend it.
he dramas, the language and the music kickstarted my interest in the whole culture.
Realistically speaking, my biggest dream is to ly
to Korea. I’ve had to pass on that for personal reasons
for a long time and am now trying to save money so I
can inally fulill this dream next year.
So if someone asks me what interests me most
about Korea, my answer is: everything!
Why do you read K-Colors of Korea and what do
you like most about the magazine?
he reason why I read K is at the same time the thing I
like most about it. K is not only about K-pop. If I want
information about my bands or the general K-pop scene,
I can ind that on any website on the net. here are really
enough of those. I really like it that K covers various
topics all around Korea. So I can learn something about
Korean culture from serious articles that speak from the
author’s own experiences. hat way I get a beter picture
even if I can’t go to Korea or test everything myself.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream would be to personally meet my
favorite idol and spend a day with him! …
