Nick Howard in Germany. I wrote it when I was 18,
about a girl I was in love with. A very personal song that
was released by an artist years ater I wrote it.
K: What do you think is interesting about the
Korean music business, and what is more on the
critical side?
Albi: It’s remarkable how forward-thinking and
ambitious the people in the business are. Creativity and
innovation are still valued tremendously, which is what
is expected of the songwriters and producers as well.
he level and standard of the shows, the performers
and the singers are extremely high and everything is
planned right up to the smallest details. hings, that are
sometimes very diferent in many other countries and
businesses these days and most probably one of the
reasons, why Kpop has been receiving a lot of atention
worldwide. Of course, as with everything, there are also
drawbacks to a highly developed system and business
like this. Being a Kpop Star is probably not the easiest
and most comfortable of jobs.
K: What will we hear from you in 2014?
Albi: My latest release is the E-Girls single “Diamond
Only”. I have songs coming with Kumi Koda, Ater
School, SHINee and many more. here are a lot of
projects about which I’m not allowed to say anything
yet but in any case there is going to be lots of new stuf!
I’ve also just founded my publishing company called
MUSSASHI Publishing. A publishing house based in
Berlin, dedicated to creating new, revolutionary hits
for the Asian music market, developing new talent
and help writers create exciting and unique songs and
productions. I’m sure that soon we’ll be hearing a lot
from some of the new writers as well.
K: hanks a lot for the interview.
