Introduction
Being a secondary teacher for six years has brought me many experiences and successes.
Throughout my teaching years, I always endeavored to be the best teacher I can be, by going the
extra miles for the students in order for them to be successful. I then evaluated myself to see
what areas I can develop myself so I in return can be able to help develop the students. I started
doing an online course but in my opinion, I think that this course only helped to give individual
growth and not much in a way to that I can return the favor to my students. I was then advised to
attend Teachers College. At first, I was very reluctant to this idea, but after some deep thought, I
afterward decided to take up the challenge and enrolled at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College in
June, 2015. B.B. King quoted “The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away
from you.” This quote helps me to adapt to the idea of doing Technology, after I have learnt it no
one can take it away. I entered the Technology course being open minded to learn new things
and to do as much as I can to learn. What I know about Technology is what I have learned from
tampering or experimenting, I never did technology in a class room setting since I left Secondary
education in 1996. It was strange and different as we went through the six (6) topics which
included an activity for each. I continue to work diligently to ensure that I am successful in this
course. What also helped me to stay motivated was my own personal motto I had introduced to
my form class while I was teaching; Wish it, Want it, Do it! I remembered how the students used
to recite it daily and they were very successful with their end of school exams. This was my
drive along with the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation I have.
