A type of major depression that occurs during a specific season (often fall and winter) Symptoms Include: -Sadness or irritability -Lack of enjoyment -Sleeping more -Overeating -Low energy -Difficulty concentrating WRITTEN BY: IMORY JEFFERSON 1 10 OUT OF teens in the U.S. report having seasonal depression -Less time socializing Relieve symptoms by: -Exercising -Getting more sunlight -Adding more vitamin D to your diet (tuna, salmon, milk, egg yolks, some cereals) If your mood doesn’t improve (or it gets worse), talk to a healthcare professional.
