I'm Junsjazz , a photography enthusiast from the Philippines. Welcome to this showcase of images meant to inspire, uplift and enliven. This is the digital magazine edition of my photo blog. You can check out Junsjazz Images & Inspiration for more of my photography.

When I started taking pictures almost a decade ago, I shunned black and white. I mean, we see in color so why dabble in something vintage, straight out from a bygone era? I basked in the vivid and the vibrant and the colorful. Until I saw online the works of Ansel Adams, Andre Kertesz, Elliot Erwitt, Diane Arbus, Alfred Stieglitz and other monochrome masters. I was stunned. “Black and white are the colors of photography”, said Robert Frank, an influential photographer. Indeed, the elegance, art and aesthetics of black and white photography cannot be disputed. So now during photo walks, I see to it that I take images suited for this classic medium. We all have to return to our photographic roots, and that is black and white.
