Crayons & markers & pencils , oh my ! Junior Auxiliary of Columbus spent the summer working to make sure children in our community had the basic needs to keep arts in the classroom . Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is an advocate of promoting a well rounded child and one way they continue this mission is supplying children with art supplies .

This year the members of Junior Auxiliary of Columbus spent more than 160 hours in preparation to help ensure a successful start to the school year for 1,700 students ! Each student enrolled in the Columbus Municipal School District in prekindergarten through fifth grade received a bag

filled with art supplies . Each bag was equipped with a pair of scissors , a box of markers , a box of crayons ,

a set of pencils , a box of colored pencils , a glue stick , a ruler , and a pencil sharpener . Once the bags were packed , Junior Auxiliary of Columbus members delivered them to our five area elementary schools : Fairview , Franklin , Joe Cook , Sale and Stokes-Beard .

Arts are an important part of a well-rounded education , and Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is proud of its partnership with Columbus Municipal School District that helps to put the child first . Not only do these supplies allow students to create endless projects , but they also allow each child to begin the school year with confidence in knowing they have all the necessary

supplies needed . Roselyn Rainey , a Fairview Pre-K teacher , said it best , “ Junior Auxiliary of Columbus pours into our students with these fabulous art bags . They make sure our students are prepared for learning with all the supplies they need . The students are excited to have their own supplies to start the school year off right . Thank you Junior Auxiliary for your support in the learning process ”.

Junior Auxiliary of Columbus hopes that , by providing these much needed supplies , each student will find joy in drawing and using their imagination , and in turn boost their personal growth and academic achievements .
