Dear Citizens of Lowndes County ,
The Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is proud to present our annual “ Report to the Community .” The goals of this publication are twofold . First and foremost , we aim to highlight the very generous sponsors whose support is vital to our work . Secondly , we are pleased to update you on the important projects being done in our community by our members . Please note the variety of corporate sponsors , businesses and individual donors who have given so generously to support our projects benefitting the children of Lowndes County . We extend our sincere appreciation to each of them . Without their contributions through the purchase of these sponsorships and ads , we would be unable to continue our efforts to meet the growing needs of the children in our community . Every project carried out by Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is funded through the purchase of these sponsorships and ads .
Now in our 81st year of service in this community , the primary goals of Junior Auxiliary of Columbus remain the support , encouragement and betterment of the children in our community . Our longest-running project and largest financial commitment continues to be providing new school clothing and uniforms to local students in need . This year , we were pleased to be able to add new sneakers to the list of items provided . As you read these pages , you will see that the work of Junior Auxiliary is not limited to clothing , however . This year , we have expanded our weekend backpack meal program to include additional schools and an expanding list of students who suffer from food insecurity . Our scholarship program continues to provide tens of thousands of dollars annually to local high school graduating seniors . Our Crown Club project , now in its third year , introduces high school girls to the joys of community service . In-school projects focus on a variety of topics including personal fitness , teaching teens about financial responsibility , bullying awareness , mentoring , providing art supplies and encouraging inclusivity for students with special needs .
We extend our heart-felt gratitude to our sponsors who have so graciously provided the financial means for us to achieve our goals of service this year . It is only through your generosity and support that we are able to accomplish our objective of providing services to better the lives of the children of Lowndes County . We sincerely appreciate your contributions and encouragement as we continue helping local children in an effort to fulfill the slogan of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries : “ Caring Hearts . Helping Hands . Changing Lives .”
