Excon, I mentioned earlier is a platform where all manufacturers like to showcase their latest technologies, this includes digital technology. and services are designed, engineered and manufactured to address customer needs. Today’ s customer is not just looking for a product; he / she is looking for a complete product solution. There are multiple aspects that need to be addressed to ensure that customers derive maximum output from our machines. The first and foremost is the inherent concept and design of the machine. At JCB, we manufacture products to One Global Quality which means products manufactured in India can be used in any part of the world. These products have been designed to perform in demanding Indian working conditions
In addition to the design of the product, after sales support plays a critical role in the buying cycle. Over the years, we have also set-up the largest distribution network in the industry with 63 dealers and 650 outlets. These outlets are spread across India, employing over 6,000 trained professionals to cater to different customer requirements.

We have invested in the technology and introduced the state-of-the-art telematics technology called JCB Livelink, which helps our customers remotely monitor and manage their machines. Users, Dealers and JCB get SMS alerts on their phones regarding the Service, Operations and Security of their machine.
An initiative like Make in India has been designed to establish India as a Global Manufacturing Hub. Please share your thoughts on on-ground implementation. What more needs to be done?
The Government launched the Make in India programme in 2014, with the primary goal of making India a global manufacturing hub, by encouraging both multinational as well as domestic companies to manufacture their products within the country.
The programme aims to raise the contribution of the manufacturing sector to 25 % of the Gross Domestic Product( GDP) by the year 2025 from its current 15 %.
Through concerted efforts of the Government in the past three years, Make in India has made considerable effort in positioning India as a desirable manufacturing destination.
India is regarded as a stable economy in the global market place. It is also one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Make in India aims to renew investors’ confidence in India. Sustained efforts to improve the ease of doing business will play an important role if manufacturing related investments are needed.
The recent improvement in rankings is welcome effort and the same needs to continue to improve the position further for investors to setup manufacturing units in India, thereby providing employment. www. ghmediabusiness. com
