For Dad What Dad wouldn’t want a thick juicy steak for Father’s Day? Less than 14%, according to a study ordered by Omaha Steaks. I know this seems biased right? But it was actually a third party pollster the company hired that asked dads whether they’d prefer to receive a Tbone steak or the more traditional Father’s Day gift of a tie, and 86% of respondents opted for red meat. It doesn’t hurt that Father’s Day always falls on the third Sunday in June, high season for weekend outdoor grilling, another Dad favorite. This story is courtesy of Forbes Magazine. Father’s Day is June 15th and the perfect opportunity for us to give thanks to all the dads out there. Art Leedale, Store 7 ASM, shared the below poem in remembrance of his Dad, James Edward Leedale. His dad served in WWII, Korea and was in South Vietnam. You got it from your father, it was all he had to give. So it's yours to use and cherish, for as long as you may live. If you lose the watch he gave you, it can always be replaced. But a black mark on your name, son, can never be erased. It was clean the day you took it, and a worthy name to bear. When he got it from his father, there was no dishonor there. So make sure you guard it wisely, after all is said and done. You'll be glad the name is spotless, when you give it to your son. Art himself served as a Marine for 30 years. Art’s son, James Eric Leedale, currently serves in the military as a First Sargeant at Camp Lejeune. What a legacy of fathers serving our nation! 1
