This session will highlight emerging policy trends at the federal and state levels, provide insight into potential changes in housing, employment, and operational compliance, and help members anticipate how evolving laws might affect their businesses. The May 26 IROC Forum featured an engaging discussion focused on insurance and financing considerations impacting independent owners. The forum was designed to provide members with practical insight into today’ s market conditions, common coverage and financing challenges, and strategies for managing risk and capital in an evolving environment. Attendees had the opportunity to exchange perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of how financial and insurance decisions can influence day-today operations as well as long-term property stability.
Zac Clark with First Interstate Bank led the discussion on protecting financial investments and navigating financing considerations. His presentation highlighted current lending trends, financial planning strategies, and the importance of maintaining strong banking relationships in a changing economic landscape. Zac provided valuable insight into how owners can position their properties for long-term success while managing financial risk and capital needs.
Brian Parks with TrueNorth followed with a comprehensive overview of insurance policies that are especially important for small owners. He discussed key coverage considerations, common gaps in protection, and the importance of reviewing policies regularly to ensure adequate coverage in today’ s market. Brian’ s presentation emphasized how proactive insurance planning can help owners mitigate risk, protect assets, and maintain operational stability. Together, both presentations provided members with timely information and practical takeaways to help support informed business decisions.
