Jersey Shore Area Middle School Celebrates a Season of Success
As the school year came to an end, the students and staff of Jersey Shore Area Middle School looked back on a spring season filled with excitement, growth, and achievement. From sports competitions to creative arts showcases, the Middle School’ s spring activities brought the entire community together and showcased the talents of its students in a variety of activities.
The spring sports season kicked off with energy and enthusiasm, as student athletes competed on the track, field, and soccer pitch. Our track and field team had standout performances at every meet, while our soccer teams fought hard against other teams and the rainy weather.
It wasn’ t just athletics that stole the spotlight this spring. Our annual spring concert series also highlighted the immense talent of our student body. The Middle School chorus, band, and jazz band partnered with the High School to dazzle the community with cultural and traditional works of music. The band was also able to travel to and perform at Hershey Park at the end of August.
One of the most notable aspects of this spring season was the strong sense of community and school spirit. Students, parents, and staff rallied around each other, with support for events like a food drive for Jersey Shore’ s Care and Share and FBLA’ s Coin Wars, which collected over $ 750 for a local family. The rainy weather forced us to transition the annual 7th grade Field Trip to Little Pine State Park to the Middle School, but the collective efforts of our staff and that of DCNR still made it a fun and enriching experience for all.
As the school year wrapped up, the success of our spring activities left us energized and excited for the future. Many students expressed interest in taking part in more extracurriculars next year, and the faculty are already planning ways to build on this season ' s accomplishments. One of our goals for students is to maximize their Middle School experience, and that was certainly accomplished this school year.- by Dr. Tara Battaglia, Middle School Principal
