“ Power Struggle ,” April
I was disappointed by Ellen Liberman ’ s “ Power Struggle ” article . It is unfortunate that the bulk of her article revolves around groups who are opposed to wind turbines and very little about how wind farms would benefit Rhode Islanders .
She mentions the high upfront costs , but not the long-term huge gains making energy cheaper , and protecting the environment . She does not fact check what the groups like Green Oceans are alleging and by just stating what they claim , she invites speculation on their validity . She quotes Trudy Coxe ,

saying that there is “ secretiveness ,” when in fact there have been many community meetings on wind . It is not secretive at all !
She spends very little time at the end with J . Timmons Roberts , which seems too little , too late . The article seems to be skewed toward validating false information against wind energy instead of the truth of the positives of wind energy for Rhode Island .
Disappointed that this article exposed untruths and put a very negative spin on wind energy , which is not in Rhode Island ’ s , or the planet ’ s , best interest .
