Duke of Edinburgh
Written by Ella Ramsay , S1
Mrs . Maxwell did four expeditions for Duke of Edinburgh . This year they took 62 S3 ' s people on two expeditions one for practice and one for qualifying . They went to Culzean , Dunure and Maybole , they had to learn how to read a map , build a tent , cook all of their meals and sleep all night outside . Students had to take tent0s , a stove and lots of other items that they needed during the exposition .
They walked in groups and every single pupil completed it . After a few more expeditions they will have achieved their bronze award . If they take it in S4 they will work towards their silver award . Mrs . Maxwell would like to say well done to everyone who completed it .
South Ayrshire Youth Council Vote
Congratulations to Timur and Itai ( S2 ) on being elected as Marr ’ s representatives on the South Ayrshire Youth Council . Both students are very excited to take up their new positions and work to share the voices of students at Marr College .
It was a very competitive process with students sharing their policies and plans during PSE and personal support classes . Candidates were present during the voting process to answer any last-minute questions from voters .
Well done to all our candidates on their fantastic election campaigns – we were blown away by your professionalism and enthusiasm for the process . Well done to Ms McClymont for co-ordinating the election . We look forward to hearing more about the Youth Council next year – there will be a termly insert from Timur and Itai sharing their progress .
Art & Design Expo
