Job Well Done , Bulldogs
May is perhaps the busiest month of the year in education . With state assessments , field trips , final exams , performances , and PIAA playoffs , there are a lot of commitments that can capture our attention . Through all these activities , it is important that we pause to appreciate the hard work and dedication our students put forth on a daily basis . We challenge our students with a mission that states : The district will provide a supportive environment where all members learn , grow , and succeed , to positively impact the world around them .
On May 8th , we recognized students who ’ ve lived up to that mission , as we honored those inducted into a variety of Honor Societies . 38 students were inducted into the National Honor Society in recognition of not only scholarship , but character , leadership , and service . 13 students were inducted into the National English Honor Society , who pledged to use their gifts in service to others . The Spanish National Honor Society inducted 15 new members . The National Art Honor Society recognizes scholarship , art , service , and character . 22 students were recognized for their artistic accumen and appreciation for the vital role art can play in education . Finally , Mu Alpha Theta , the National High School and 2-year College Mathematics Honor Society , inducted 32 new members .
Looking ahead , our senior class is eagerly anticipating the senior awards and commencement ceremonies . These events will honor our class of 2024 as we recognize all of the exceptional achievements within our senior class . These students are a great representation of our Bulldog Nation , who have led well and demonstrated what it means to be a Bulldog , to those who will follow their guidance over the next few years . As the year draws to a close , we look forward on taking some time to celebrate the lessons learned , the growth we ’ ve attained , and all the success we know awaits this exceptional graduating class . Thank you students for reminding us that every day is a Great Day to Be a Bulldog ! - by Justin Armbruster , Jersey Shore High School Principal
Our " Go Fund Me " Collaboration : " Helmet Pads - Play Hard - Stay Safe "
Bear Country Radio is pleased to be working with The Record and the Record Online to make sports safer for area football players . A " Go Fund Me " has been set up for people to contribute to a worthwhile cause - the purchase of helmet guards to cover all middle and high school football players in the Jersey Shore , Keystone Central , and Bucktail Districts . Studies show that Guardian Helmet Pads can reduce concussions up to 52 %. They also keep players cool , reducing heat from sunlight by twenty degrees . These pads are worn by more than 3000 high schools , 300 colleges , including Penn State , and over 750 youth programs . So far , they ' re only worn in practice , but a recent endorsement from the NFL may change that , as commissioner Roger Goodell announced recently that players can now use the pads during pre-season , regular season , and playoff games . It ' s time to take action to do whatever we can to make football safer . People can contribute to the purchase of the helmet guards - the " Helmet Pads - Play Hard - Stay Safe " Go Fund Me link is on The Bear ' s Facebook page - Bear Country 99.9 FM - WQBR , and The Record-Online page . All donations will go toward the purchase of the helmet pads , which cost approximately $ 75 each , and 200 are needed to outfit every player . Link : https :// gofund . me / 1e246095
