Night on the Town
The MAE Organization for the Homeless held its annual Be the Light Gala at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick , raising $ 37,000 to support the organization ’ s mission of promoting healing and mental wellness among homeless individuals in Rhode Island . The event included dinner and dancing as well as a live auction and hors d ’ oeuvres by special guest chef Frank Terranova . The funds will be distributed through the newly opened Wellness Center , which offers mental health services and a basic needs pop-up shop in Cranston . — SHALIYAH DIXON
