Step 11 To create the orchid centre , knead a piece of gumpaste into a ball and firmly push it into all of the grooves of the orchid centre veiner – generously dust the veiner with cornflour before use . Create a flat backing by rolling over the top of the gumpaste with the rolling pin .

Slightly stretch the veiner to release the orchid centre and use the matching cutter to remove the excess gumpaste .
Step 13
Place the orchid centre on the foam pad and use a small sized ball tool to stretch out and curve in the two wings of the orchid centre and lengthen the two legs – this will allow you to cup the wings and curl the legs when placing the orchid centre in the flower former .
Step 14 All pieces will need to be given time to dry overnight .
