The American Heart Association ’ s Southern New England chapter participated in National Wear Red Day in February and held a Go Red for Women Digital Experience in April . Area professionals and local news celebrities wore red in support of the organization and the Go Red campaign that focuses on preventing heart disease and stroke in women , shares stories of people affected by this issue and raises funds to support research and education initiatives . – JAMIE COELHO
