“ Photographing Aquapalooza was a dream assignment ,” says photographer Alex Gagne about the day-long summer boat party in “ On the Rocks .” “ Getting to spend the day on the water in a boat and meet hundreds of people having a good time and enjoying the summer sun was a blast ,” he says of the pre-pandemic photo shoot . “ People were barbecuin ’ on their boats while others had full bands playing music . It ’ s like nothing I ’ ve ever experienced before .”

Drone photographer Michael Prince had a perfect bird ’ s eye view of Aquapalooza . “ I had a blast shooting it ,” he says . “ I have never seen that many boats in one place before . Using the drone to get up over the action gave me a great perspective of the action .” Prince ’ s work is in the Library of Congress , several museums and many private collections .
