Every Life Worth Living
Good Stewards Live Like
JB and Miss Audrey
We have all heard it. Jesus says we must be like “little children”
to get into heaven. So, it’s important we know what Jesus means when
he says that. In fact, it’s more than important. It’s ESSENTIAL that
we not only know what Jesus means but that we live it as well. The responsibility of living like Jesus wants us to live is yours. I will assume
the responsibility of trying to explain what
Jesus is talking about.
Okay, what does Jesus mean when he
tells us we must like little children? Well,
first, Jesus is certainly not telling us we must
BE little children. We can’t be children, little or otherwise. If we can read this, we’re
not little children. More than likely, we’re
adults. One way or another, we no longer
have the capacity to BE children. But, we
can and we must be LIKE children, like LITTLE children (think toddlers). And, I believe
playwright Archibald MacLeish captures
what that means in his play “JB.”
