VOL Students Teach Stewardship
Students at Visitation of Our Lady School understand
how to give service to others and exemplify the school's mission
statement, "Inspiring Catholic Faith and Principles W hile
Encouraging Academic Excellence." It’s one thing to learn
about good stewardship at school, but to actually practice it,
that’s something that takes effort.
The school recently participated in the American Heart
Association's Jump Rope for Heart event. The top three
students contributing donations were fourth grader Sarah
Walters, second grader Aiden Bucalan, and third grader Lily
Bergeron.
Two others students recently performed good deeds on
their own. Second grader Savana Guill sold lemonade on
National Lemonade Day to earn money for Team Jordan to
support Jordan Sabio, a VOL student who is battling cancer.
Third grader Kahlen Langlinais recently used her First
Communion monetary gifts, along with donations from family
members, to buy groceries to help restock the parish food bank
for the summer. Visitation is very proud of these students!
Fr. Mike often preaches and writes about being good
stewards. We know our children are listening. Are we?
When I stand before
God at the end of my
life, I would hope
that I would not
have a single bit of
talent left, and could
say, “I used
everything You
gave me.”
