JANUARY 2016 When was the last time you went to the Cathedral to pray and spend time with the Lord at our Mother Church? When was the last time you went to visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, the secondary patroness of our Archdiocese? When was the last time you went to pray with the monks of St. Benedict’s Abbey? If the answer is never or if it has been a long time, then this is a great time to visit these sites. A great opportunity to pray and ask God for clarity in your life. The parish will lead a the thirsty, clothe the naked, harbor the homeless, visit the sick, ransom the captive and bury the dead. The spiritual works of mercy are: instruct the ignorant, counsel the doubtful, admonish sinners, bear wrongs patiently, forgive offenses willingly, comfort the afflicted, and pray for the living and the dead. These aren’t things that require a lot of work but can be done as part of our daily routine during this year. Lastly, we can also look for ways to restore broken relationships.
