HIGHLANDERS (HSC) T eam Highlanders; I would like to first make sure that I express that I am honored to have been given the opportunity to lead HSC as your commander. I look forward to leading this diverse Team through a challenging and important mission. I have heard of nothing but stellar performance and witnessed nothing less than hard work in the my short time as commander. As we move forward, I encourage everyone to stay focused and motivated. Over the next few months, it is possible that there will be some uncertainty. This is an important time to keep faith and trust in your leadership to keep you and your family fully informed during this time of transition for Coalition and Afghan Forces. Despite the outcome of decisions made, we need to stay encouraged and put in a full effort. Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion Page 28 This is also a challenging time during a deployment as we start to get comfortable and settled into our positions and jobs here in Afghanistan. I encourage families to reinforce their support for their Soldiers. Soldiers will feel closer to home, and it will motivate them to stay focused and stay their best. If we all stick together as a Team, not only do we build trust and confidence, we will succeed and return knowing that we made a difference and represented the 10th Mountain Division well. - CPT ZACHARY LEWIS CPT ZACHARY LEWIS HSC COMMANDER
