Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion Page 14
Intelligence and Sustainment Company (ISC)
Hello Hellhound
Families,
IT’S hard to know where to
begin, so much has happened in the last few months.
Our Soldiers have been performing outstanding in not
only their jobs but other areas
as well. From guarding VIPs
to moving much needed
medical supplies to the Afghan people, they accomplish
all tasks without hesitation.
Some of these outstanding
Soldiers recognized were
SGT Slotnick (HQ), SSG
Bates (CJ1), and SGT Davidson (HQ) who received a
battalion coin and awarded
the “Gauntlet Warrior of the
Week”.
To say that being deployed
doesn't have challenges
would be an understatement,
but Hellhound Soldiers are
resilient and make the best of
Hellhound Pack,
the situation. Housing has
been a little but of an issue
as we close down bases,
more people come to Bagram to refit and fly home.
All in all, this is a good
thing and it won’t be long
before we complete our
mission and come home
too.
I would like to take time to
thank all the families who
are participating in the
FRG back home and the
volunteers that help make
the events happen. They
sacrifice their own time to
ensure that our families
stay strong and are there
to help when they can.—

HE
last three
months
have
been very eventful. The Afghan
Presidential Election conducted in April has resulted
in a runoff election between
the two leading candidates
scheduled for 14 June 2014.
We can expect the winner to
be determined in early August.
Similarly, we have had several important events take
place on Bagram Airfield
such as the Boston Marathon Shadow Run, the Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony, and a Naturalization
Ceremony for Soldiers who
wished to become U.S. citizens. A special thanks to
everyone who supported or
participated in these events!
As the summer months arrive, personnel will continue to take R&R
leave and return to theater to carry
out their assigned duties. As time
progresses and more information
becomes available, we will let you
know when you can expect your
loved ones back home.
Enjoy the barbeques, beaches, and
summer activities!
