Page 7 THE MAGAZINE ROOM SLAMOLOGY BABY Its JUNE 2011 and that can only mean one thing, time for the 8th Annual SLAMOLOGY Automotive and Music Festival. That s right you heard what I said, it s time to get that ride shined up, grab your wife and kids and make plans to be at this year event coming up the weekend of June 18-19. Let me give you a rundown of this year s event. I ll start with letting you know that pre-registration ends June 3, so you need to get that credit card out and call today to save some money. If you don t pre-register then you will want to show up on Friday before the show to register. That way when you get to the show you can drive in the speed gate and not have to wait in line. Media coverage this year includes Mini Truckin, Street Truck, IndyRPM, Drop-N-Drag, Drop Jaw, Cruisin the Streets, Layin Body and Street Source. Video coverage will include SPEED TV, My Classic Car, Tite Rides TV, Cambered Video and No Law Video. So make sure your rides are clean and ready at all times. During the weekend there will be music on the Hard Rock Café Main Stage with bands and DJ playing a variety of music ranging from Rock to Rap to Reggie, so take your chairs and coolers up and enjoy the entertainment. Also on the Hard Rock Main Stage on Saturday will be the Bikini Contest sponsored by Spade Kreations were one lucky lady will be crowned Ms. Slamology 2011. So guys don t forget to pack your girlfriend/wife bikini so she can get up on stage and strut her stuﬀ. Also don t forget to bring your wallet. Several vendors will be on hand like Drop em Wear selling great lifestyle shirts, Cambered and No Law Video selling the their latest DVDs of the show scene, plus several shops from the Midwest with vehicles on display showing you their talents among many others. Other action going on within the show grounds will be a Skateboard Expo put on by STR8 UP S8T Shop, High Flying Hyro Show put on by R-N-L Customs, 3X DB Drags sponsored by Asylum Autowerks and Tite Rides Television, Tattoo Contest sponsored and judged by Steel Rod Tattoo Shop and Club Games sponsored by Indy Custom Cornhole. Speaking of Club Games who is going to show up and take the Club Participation award from 2010 winning club Positive Force? Did I mention that there are over 75 classes with custom steel trophies, not those cheap plastic ones. And that the best of awards are billet aluminum like no others. Plus the Best of Show Trophy is a custom made leather and aluminum belt. If this isn t enough to get you to show up, you must be in jail. So come out and enjoy a great weekend with some old friends and meet some new ones. Damn it I missed something. This year s After party on Saturday night will be held Downtown at the Hard Rock Café. The Hard Rock Staﬀ will be picking their Top 25 to be displayed at the Hard Rock Café during the festivities.
