I
Welcome
t is fantastic to see lives improve, and that is why Hollard ensures that everything we do does just
that. We do so much more than just insurance – we make a world of difference in the lives of the
people around us. The key insight behind the campaign is that the things we do, and the way we do
them, enable more people to create and secure a better future.
Our sponsorships reflect this purpose and it is an important driving factor for us as a company. Hollard
is involved in the following sponsorship properties, which are focused on improving the health and
environmental activities of our people and city:
• The Daredevil Run
• Jozi Trails
• The Hollard Joburg Urban Mountain Bike Adventure (JUMA) as well as the Hollard Joburg
Urban Run Adventure (JURA)
The Daredevil run is a 5–6km fun run with a strong social message, highlighting the treatability
of certain cancers that affect men (specifically prostate and testicular cancer). The Jozi Trails is a
partnership between Hollard and the Joburg City Parks & Zoo (JCPZ), which is committed to uplifting
and creating a sustainably improved experience for all users of the Braamfontein Spruit, from
Emmarentia up to and including Delta Park.
Jozi Trails came about as a result of a number of issues affecting the sustainability of the Spruit
and the safety of ALL trail users, including dog-walkers, runners, pedestrians and cyclists. These
included accidents caused by poorly maintained pathways and crossings, the environmental impact
caused by crowding on popular sections, the improvisation of routes (particularly by cyclists), and
issues of general safety and security. Jozi Trails, after an extensive process of public consultation and
community input, was formed to resolve these issues.
The Hollard JUMA and Hollard JURA are brought to by Hollard and BAM Event & Activation Creators in
partnership with Joburg City Parks and Zoo.
