Championship Horse Show: James Duenow
James received a quote from a tent company for outdoor stalls and is asking the board to help share any other contacts for tent rental with James. The committee has put together a Champ Show attendance survey, to help estimate how many stalls will be needed, which could change the size of tent needed. Liz said she could email the survey to club secretaries, in addition to Rachel posting on Facebook, so that each club can complete the survey. Vendor applications and Sponsorships are due June 15, Food Truck applications are due July 15

There were 24 judges that attended the seminar this year, and 2 applicants tested. 1 applicant made it through the written test and interview. The committee received their first Expedited Judges applicant, and they have been interviewed. The committee is recommending approval on Mark Baus, who holds cards with multiple breed associations. If approved to move forward, he would be judging shows for the remainder of the 2025 season, and show committees would be completing reviews and sharing that information with the Judges Committee to review at the end of the season.
Motion was made by Lori Taylor, seconded by Rachel Duenow to follow the committee’ s recommendation and approve Mark Baus as a WSCA judge through the expedited process. Motion carried unanimously.
It was discussed that it may be a good idea to share the process of the Expedited Judges Application in the Spotlight, to bring awareness and potentially draw interest. The committee is recommending Tara Venable, who is the first person to complete the Apprentice Program, to move forward in the Judge process. She did a great job on both her test and interview.
Motion was made by James Duenow, seconded by Amber Duncanson to follow the committee’ s recommendation and move Tera forward to the next step in the Judge process. Motion carried unanimously.

Marketing & Promotions: Rachel Duenow
The spotlight has been going good, and Sara, our Herald Journal contact has a good handle on things. We received really good feedback from the MN Horse Expo. Rachel is working on the Save the Date for the Awards Banquet. The scholarships were pushed last month, and this coming week, the sponsorship and vendor applications will be pushed, with the deadline coming up on June 15 th. Champ show forms are continued to be worked on and updated.
Nominating: Ann Goebel
The committee is looking at a slight adjustment to the application form, to clarify the requirements and preference of receiving board applications. This would be a procedural change, so the committee will work with Sandy to bring a proposed change to the Board.
