Transfer printing to polyester-based workwear

For many years the full colour transfer decoration of polyester-based garments was mainly restricted to using sublimation transfers , provided the garments were white or pastel colours , due to the non-availability of white sublimation ink . This is indeed still the case .
However , with selected DTG printers there appears to still be some issues when it comes to polyester and especially with workwear jackets in darker colours . Another significant issue has been the effect of dye-migration of sublimation inks as a result of too high temperatures caused generally by heat presses when applying transfers . TheMagicTouch toner-based transfers can be applied as low as 120 ° c avoiding any scorching or press marks .

TheMagicTouch confirm the maximum transfer size for any polyester-based garment using the transfer process will be A3 , as per the printer capabilities . However , toner transfer process offers multi-logo capabilities making the cost per full colour transfer very competitive . This has been highlighted recently with production capabilities for facemask decoration where up to 100 full logos per A3 transfer were produced .
